The local gymnastics team made some waves internationally last month.

Eleven Polarettes travelled to Juneau over the May long weekend to participate in the Gold Rush Invitational.

Level 3 gymnast Rebecca Czerny placed first in her group, thanks to some excellent work on the vault, bars and floor.

Yukoners Riley Boland, Kalina Morrison and Lily Witten also finished one-two-three in their Level 3 grouping.

In Level 4 competition, Maude Molgat picked up a silver in a group that included teammates Aryanna Lavanderos, Ella Paldy and Ava Jampolsky.

And in Level 6, Hailey Sherman picked up a bronze in a group that also included Anna Gishler, Sasha Kozmen and Alexis Benson.

Beginning tomorrow, a group of 13 gymnasts will compete in the Ogopogo Invitational in Kelowna, B.C., before returning to host the Yukon Championships here in Whitehorse June 13.
