Pizza Hut takes over second in Tuesday Night squash

Ketza edged past Pizza Hut in Tuesday Night Squash League action, but just by a hair.

Both the first-place Ketza and Pizza Hut, which moves into second place in the standings, recorded two match victories, though Ketza ended the evening with 15 points to the Huts 14.

Sam Keller of Ketza defeated Chris Cullingham and Kenji Tatsumi defeated Pizza Hut's Russel Banford. The Hut's Julien Revel took out Steve Fecteau and Doug Thorseth defeated Ketza's Tyler Martin.

In other Tuesday night action, Kilrich and the School of Hard Knocks split the evening with two matches apiece while Yukon Brewing defeated North Star Mini-Storage three matches to one, winning one by default.

Kilrich's Phil Jacson defeated Chris Toleman and Kai Knorr defeated Sophia Flather. The School's Blaine Tessier took out Adam Sippel and Tyler Nesgaard defeated Tim Carroll.

Yukon Brewing's Peter Mather defeated Lars Johansson and Stephen Grundmanis took out Glen Rudman. North Star's Jim Gilpin defeated Gord Starko.

In Thursday Night Squash League action last week, Kumon Learning won three of four matches against Uniglobe Travel, Emco and Northern Lights split the evening with two matches each and Underhill and Sterling Insurance also split, though Underhill won one by default.

Kumon's Kelly Panchyshyn pushed the envelope against the Shop's Anna Lee Jacobsen, going the full five games but winning the last in extra points, 16-14. Kumon's Will Parker defeated Andrew Zinck in three and Denise McDiarmid defeated Joanne Heyes in three. The Shop's David Buckler needed all five games to take out Emilie Herdes.

Sterling's Mark Beese defeated Coleman Newell and Randi Cave downed Underhill's Marie Maratos. Logan Small recorded Underhill's only match win for the night, defeating Colin MacKenzie.

Northern Light's Amy Leach defeated Emco's Lisa Gudbranson and Zain Syed defeated Muhammad Idrees. Emco's Tara Grandy defeated Patti Flather and Emco won the other match by default.
