Whitehorse swimmer Bronwyn Pasloski spent the weekend in Saskatoon for the Western Canadian Championships.

Pasloski had a successful weekend, bringing home three medals and a number of great personal achievements, including the breaking of her own club record in the 50-metre backstroke.

"It was a very good meet for Bronwyn,” said coach Marek Poplawski.

Pasloski earned a silver in the 200-m breastroke, with a time of two minutes, 30 seconds.

The first of her bronze medals was in the 50-m breastroke, where Pasloski finished in 32.22 seconds. The second bronze was awarded for her time of 1:09.51 in the 100-m breastroke.

Poplawski said the young athlete did well in events that aren't her specialty, including achieving two personal best times in the 100-m free and her bronze in the 50-m breast.

Pasloski also swam to fourth place in the 200-m individual medley, sixth in the 50-m backstroke, 11th in the 100-m free and 12th in the 50-m free.

For her time of 29.47 seconds in the 50-m backstroke, Pasloski broke the previous Whitehorse Glacier Bears Swim Club record, which she held.

"Being in training, preparing for Pan Pacific trials at the end of March in Montreal she did very well,” Poplawski said.

Up next for the 17-year-old, she will head back into training for the Pan Pacific trials.

"Now she is back in training for Montreal were she will compete with her teammate Alexandra Gabor,” Poplawski said.
