Over 35s Soccer Round-Up

Indefatigable Schommer helps upset the odds
What runs all day but never gets tired? No it’s not a river, it’s Travis Schommer.
The Klondike Business Solutions midfield star showed what hard work can do, as he and his cohort ran themselves into the ground against top of the table Tony’s Pizza, to record a creditable tie 4-4.
In a very entertaining game, Schommer, Larry White, Jim Brown, and Bruno Bourdache all scored for KBS, however special mention must be given to guest player Phil Jackson. His speed was a constant menace for Tony’s Pizza, and with Charlie Hoeller having a good game in the net, the KBS boys put in a great performance.
However Tony’s Pizza are a fantastic side and there were many times when you thought it was just a matter of time before they would draw clear of their rivals especially with someone like Mamadou Togola on your side with his two goals.
Ben Mercier also got one as did skipper Keith Maguire, who continues his deadly shooting in front of goal.
Ladroue finds his range
There is no cleaner striker of the ball in the league than JP Ladroue. When he lines up to shoot there is normally only one result. On Saturday he picked up three goals, but it wasn’t enough for his Pepsi side to topple Yukon Brewing as 10 goals were scored but no winner could be found, the game finishing 5-5.
James McCullough and Doc Bousquet helped out Ladroue by scoring for Pepsi, while Guiliano Rayo was again in tremendous form for the Brew. Rayo was as busy in front of goal as the cash registers of the Spruce Bog next door were, nailing another hat trick for his side.
Pat Shaw is also having a great year, his determination and much improved play bagged him two goals as this game was fought until the final whistle.
