Eric Murphy hit the jackpot

Murphy and his Magnificent 7

Eric Murphy hit the jackpot with seven goals in a remarkable game between Tony’s Pizza and Pepsi in over 35 soccer action this weekend.

Murphy, the ultimate goal scoring sniper, led his team to a 15-3 win, and in this form Real Madrid seniors will be interested in signing him.

Pepsi had no answer to the offensive might that comes when you play the pizza boys.

Mamadou Togola snared three goals, and there was a goal apiece for Keith Maguire, Joe Morrison, Ben Mercier, Jan Aalt Den Hoorn and an own goal rounded out Tony's scoring.

Phil Jackson (2) and Danny MacDonald scored for Pepsi, but it was one-way traffic for most of the game.

Shaw puts on a great show

Pat Shaw hit his sixth and seventh goals of the season, as a clinical Yukon Brewing put away a hard-working Klondike Business Solutions team 7-1.

Shaw is proving to be a thorn in the side of opposition defenders, with his physical and astute play.

Used car salesman Mark O’Brien grabbed two goals, with Goher Hafeez, Jeff Ford and a beautiful volley from Liz Bradley were the other scorers for the Brew.

KBS ran hard to the final whistle and never gave up. They will miss the veteran scorer John MacPhail, as he leaves the team to embark on a Lecture Tour of Latin America on the benefits of self-adhesive envelopes.

NOTES: The last regular games of the season will be played on Saturday. Klondike Business Solutions takes on Tony’s Pizza in the early game, while Pepsi faces Yukon Brewing at 10:15 a.m.

Regular games start up in the new year on Jan. 7.

Tony’s Pizza remains at the top of the leader board, followed by Yukon Brewing in second, Klondike Business Solutions in third and Pepsi pulling up the rear.
