Maguire leads the Pizza boys to victory

Keith Maguire is not only one of the toughest defenders in the league and an inspirational leader, he now scores goals as well.

Maguire broke his barren run in front of the net with a well-taken goal, which underwrote an 8-3 win for his Tony’s Pizza side over Pepsi.

In their post-game analysis, Maguire told his team not to change a thing as they are now top of the league and are looking good.

Pepsi reshuffled their formation and that worked really well and gave Tony’s Pizza some real headaches until tired legs undid all their hard work.

Thomas Riexinger was superb in the Pepsi net, but it was not enough to deny a ferocious white team.

Scoring for Tony’s were Rob Florkiewicz, Eric Murphy, Mamadou Togola (3), Adil Khalik and an own goal, while Danny Macdonald, Rob Bousquet and Ross Lindley got the goals for Pepsi.

Yukon Brew back to winning ways

Yukon Brewing put the last few weeks’ disappointing performances behind them, as they put on a very composed show, and ran 5-1 over Klondike Business Solutions.

Yukon Brewing’s game is based on solid defence, and they don’t come more solid that Mark O Brien. He was like a leprechaun guarding his pot of gold and in no mood to share. O Brien was aided and abetted by Chris Stacey and Goher Hafeez to nullify the KBS attack.

The Rayo boys, Guliano (1 goal) and David (2 goals) were running the midfield and it was only a matter of time before the hardworking KBS players were short of breath and ideas, which let the men in black ease to victory.

Other scorers for the Brew were Pat Shaw and O Brien, while Keith Welch scored a cheeky consolation for KBS.
