Two teams remain in the ‘A’ bracket and two teams are looking toward golf season after Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action Sunday at the Canada Games Centre. Kilrich and AON will square off this week in a battle of the undefeated, while Firth and Air North had their seasons come to an end.

Kilrich 4, Medicine Chest 2

Mark King scored twice for Kilrich, Dean Hassard improbably scored, and Derek Bilodeau netted the late clincher. For Medicine Chest, Gord Peterson and Josh Turcotte scored.

AON 3, Tim Hortons 2

AON built up a three goal lead on markers by Tom Ullyett, Jeff Jensen and Blaine Demchuk, and withstood a late flurry by Tims. Ed van Randen and Greg Lane got the goals for the coffee crew.

EDI 8, Firth 6

EDI scored four times in the last five minutes to erase a 6-4 deficit and stay alive in the playoffs. Colin Nash and Marcel Barrault each potted two goals for EDI, and singles came from Mike Sage, Stu MacMillan, Maxime Dugre-Sasseville and Kerry Pettitt. Blayne Monahan was a one-man wrecking crew for Firth, scoring five times, and Joel Witten added the other.

Yukon Inn 3, Air North 2

Greg Charlie scored a power-play goal with 1:16 on the clock to keep Yukon Inn playing this season. Kirk Price and Shawn Kinsella also tallied for the Inn. Briar Young and Al Hansen wrapped up Air North’s season with goals.

Action continues on Wednesday with Tim Hortons vs Yukon Inn, and Medicine Chest vs EDI; and then on Thursday, it’s Kilrich vs AON.
