The Firth Rangers handed Kilrich their first loss of the season in Junior Circuit action of Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey Thursday night at Takhini Arena. Anthony Grottoli scored the game winner with only 1:20 on the clock to snap Kilrich’s 12-game winning streak in a 5-4 win. Grottoli added another and Gerry Brandt, Dustin Heffner and Mike Gau added the others. For Kilrich, it was Myles Dolphin with two markers, and singles from Mark King and Lawrence Ignace.

The other Junior game on Thursday saw CapriCMW thump Yukon Inn 5-1. Kevin Johnstone popped a pair, and one each came from Gus Morberg, Geordan Clark and Chris Carli. Wynn Griffith netted the only Inn goal.

In Senior action Wednesday, Rick Smith padded his lead atop the scoring race with two goals and three assists in EDI’s 7-3 victory over Medicine Chest. Kerry Pettitt added two goals of his own, and Les Luciuk, Rick Moses and Tim Turner-Davis chipped in one apiece. Bobby Allison added four assists. For the Chest chaps, it was Al Hansen, Dave Bakica and Pete Mostyn doing the damage.

And Tim Hortons and Air North skated to a 4-4 draw. Greg Lane, Mike Blower, Doug Terry and Lorne Burnett bulged the twine for Tims, while Adam Green, Dave Wipf, Sean McLeish and Chris Lane replied for Air North.
