With 10 regular season games left before the holiday break, Medicine Chest Pharmacy looks primed to stay on the top of the leader board.

They won their game last night against the Firth Rangers 3-2.

Medicine Chest’s Colin Nash got things started in the first period with an assist from Blayne Monahan. Chris Nash got one off 19 seconds later to make it 2-0 for Medicine Chest.

But before time ran out in the period, Firth Rangers would tie it up thanks to Carl Cibert and Joel Witten.

In the second period, only Medicine Chest’s Nash was able to find the back of the net to secure his team the win.

Medicine Chest faces Air North (5-3-12), which is at the bottom of the leader board next on Sunday, while the Firth Rangers take on second-ranked Yukon Inn (10-4-6) the same day.

In the other game of the night, EDI downed Tim Hortons 3-2.

EDI’s Bruce Milligan got scoring started early in the first with assists going to Martin Lawrie and Kevin Neufeld. Their second goal came midway through the period from Bernie Adilman (assists to David Wipf and Thomson).

Tim Hortons didn’t get on the board until the second period, with a goal from Gary Vantell (assist to Chad Cowan). EDI answered with another goal, this time coming from Lawrie (assist to Milligan).

Tim Hortons got on the board once more with a goal from Gerry Brandt (Johnny Sembsmoen with the assist), but it was too little, too late.

Tim Hortons takes on Kilrich (5-3-13) Sunday, while EDI faces AON-Reed Stenhouse (6-5-8) the same day.

Tim Hortons sits in fourth in the standings, while EDI is in third.
