Graham Nishikawa hit the Noram podium on Sunday with a solid third place finish in a tough Noram sprint race in Canmore.

The race was the second of a two sprint series on the weekend which also served as part of a selection series for the last few spots for the Canadian team for the upcoming Olympics.

Skiing on a brutal course, described by some coaches as a short tough distance race rather than a sprint, Nishikawa was strong all day, but was out-sprinted by Drew Goldsack in the final.

The win, after Goldsack's second place finish on Saturday, almost certainly puts him on the team for the Olympics. Nishikawa finished in fifth place on the first day of the race series.

On the women's side, Dasha Gaizova dominated the competition, solidifying her position on the team with two back to back wins.

Emily Nishikawa, competing in her first season as a senior and coming back from a year off due to injury, looked strong all weekend as she powered into the B finals on Saturday, finishing ninth overall and making the quarters, finishing 17th overall in the Sunday race.

And David Greer, not normally known as a sprinter, also had some good results, advancing to the Open Men's B final on Saturday, finishing 10th overall, and getting through to the quarters on Sunday.

Olympic selection continues on Tuesday with a classic technique distance race.
