Nishikawa and Greer top Canadian skiers in Estonia
Whitehorse's Emily Nishikawa was the top Canadian female in the Under-23 Cross Country Skiing World Championships today while Janelle Greer was the top Canadian female in the World Junior Cross Country Ski Championships yesterday.

Both competing in Otepaa, Estonia, Nishikawa finished the women's 10-kilometre skate-ski race in 16th at 28 minutes, 41.5 seconds. Greer finished 35th overall in a field of 87 of the best junior skiers in the world.
Nishikawa was just over two minutes off the golden pace set by Finland's Krista Lahteenmaki (26:33.3). Russia's Mariy Guschina finished second at 27:33.3, while Norway's Hilde Lauvhaug locked up the bronze with a time of 27:35.1.
Greer, who trains full time in Canmore, is a member of the national Canadian Junior team as well as the Yukon Ski Team.
Greer finished the tough 5-kilometre course in a time of 15 minutes and six seconds, 1:16 behind the winner.
The race, an interval start skating event, was dominated by the powerhouse Norwegian team, who took the top five spots in the race.
Canada had four skiers competing in today's event, with three of the four finishing in the top 50 of the field.
