NEXT GENERATION – Ten-year-old Alex Kopan bellows instructions to his teammates
during the Suzanne Bertrand Junior Bonspiel held Sunday at the Whitehorse Curling
Club. The event featured 24 curlers ranging in age from six to 16, and was sponsored
by McDonalds. This was the fourth annual bonspiel in honour of Bertrand, a dedicated
curling coach and volunteer who lost her battle with cancer in February 2010.
