The new $8.2-million track and field facility at F.H. Collins Secondary School is getting a good work-out since opening.

Many user groups and individuals are taking advantage of this incredible resource.

The first track meets were held this year with the Grade 6 students May 26, and, on June 1, the Grades 8-9 students from F.H. Collins, Paul-Émile Mercier Secondary School Community Centre and Porter Creek Secondary School hit the field. Seen here are some photos from the Grades 8-9 meet.

To use the facility, people are being asked to:

• wear clean footwear without metal nor screw-in cleats on the track and on the field;

• keep dogs and other animals off the facility (except service animals); and

• do not bring any food or beverages other than water into the facility; only non-motorized wheelchairs and strollers are permitted.

Who you see in track & field at the Olympics from the Yukon - waste of money.
