Mustangs tie series with shootout win

Jaxon Glass and Riley O'Connor each played a key role in extending the Midget Mustangs season in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League.

Jaxon Glass and Riley O'Connor each played a key role in extending the Midget Mustangs season in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League.

Both players scored in a shootout against the Terra Firma Muckers. The Mustangs won the game 5-4, tying the series up at 1-1.

O'Connor and Glass also scored in regulation, along with teammates Bryden Engren-Cook and Chris Vance.

Dan Beaudoin, Steve Israel, Brian Douglas and Chris Evans each scored for the Muckers.

Mustangs goalie Steven Harlow didn't allow a single goal in the shootout.


Boston Pizza 7, Kluane Drillers 5

Boston Pizza is moving on to the next round of the playoffs after the team defeated the Kluane Drillers Wednesday.

Boston Pizza won the series 2-0

Randy Merkel contributed a hat trick in Boston Pizza's win, while Lance Brown also played a great game, scoring twice.

Jay Massie and Jamie Edzerza also scored for Boston Pizza.

Goal scorers for Kluane included Andrew Zinck, Tyson Hawkins, Mac Perreault, Brian Fedoriak and Stuart Murray.
