Irish eyes were smiling as Pepsi took the field against Klondike Business Solutions Saturday morning.

And the old-timer soccer crowd was treated to a top-class performance from Pepsi’s Irish striker as Pepsi earned a 6-3 victory at the Canada Games Centre.

There are not enough superlatives to describe Eric Murphy’s performance as he led his Pepsi team to victory. With class flowing from every pore, Murphy got a hat trick in the first half – effectively ending the game before it began.

He was aided by two goals from the tireless Paul Inglis and one from the elegant Alan Houston.

Skipper Jim Connell (2) and Jason Steel tried in vain to reduce the deficit but they couldn’t erase the great day for the big Irishman.

Earlier, Yukon Brewing’s transformation from no-hopers to title contenders continued as they pulled out a 4-1 win over Quest Computers.

Even though Mark O’Brien had put his shooting boots on the wrong feet, the rest of his team scored regularly to ease to victory.

Goals came from Jim Brown, Jurgen Korn, Rich Potter and Steve Insley with Timothy Fawchinmi replying for Quest.
