Mt. McIntyre ski report

Weekend skiing should be good if you pick the right time of the day.

By Whitehorse Star on April 8, 2010

Weekend skiing should be good if you pick the right time of the day. Trails were groomed Wednesday night and will be groomed Friday night.

Copper to Best Chance, Dog, Selwyn's Loop, Upper Valley, 10-kilometre to Selwyn's Loop, 7.5-km, World Cup five-km and Monique Waterreus were groomed last night and they are excellent for classic or skating.

Coyote, Raven, World Cup 10-km beyond Powerline and Pierre Harvey's Loop are good for classic or skating. Stop at the top of the S-Bend and walk down 20-metres.

The short downhill just past the 10-km viewpoint is bare so walking will be necessary.

McIntyre Ascent trail will not be groomed again this year. Present conditions are unknown. Recommended for experienced skiers only.

Inform yourself about current conditions. You may want to reschedule to a later time or choose a different route if the trails are too icy.

If skiing alone, it is recommended to take a cell phone.

The dog policy is in effect until skiing is over. Dogs must be on a leash in all signed areas and parking lots. Day pass or membership is required to use Dog Trail.

Wax Suggestion

Rode Multigrade klister works well in all conditions.
