The team of Greg Grady, Michael Tilbrook, Sean lee, Gary Tanner, Jocelyn Nadeau and Lisa Abel scored the most points during the two-day tournament at Better Bodies in Whitehorse.
Game play differed from regular squash, so instead of best-of-five matches, players squared off against a member of another team for 25 straight minutes of play. In addition to the points scored in play, players could also hit the red solo cups placed on the outskirts of the court for extra points.
In his first time competing at the Reservoir Dogs tournament, which is loosely based on the 1992 Quentin Tarantino movie, Mr. Black’s Grady said he had a lot of fun.
He found it challenging to amass extra points by way of the cups.
“It’s pretty tough. You have to get your angles down and try to make tight shots,” he said. “The more you concentrated on it, the tougher it got.”
Six teams participated in the tournament, named after six of the movie’s characters. The entry fee involved two bottles of wine, which were awarded to the team that scored the most points over all the games.
