Mount McIntyre trail report
Trail Report
Trail Report
Spring skiing means klister for classic skiers and choosing the right time of day for skate skiers. Grooming will be done nightly until next week, so skating is best before noon.
Copper to Best Chance, Upper Valley, Selwyn's Loop, Powerline and World Cup 10K to Powerline as well as the ski stadium were groomed Wednesday night and are excellent for classic or skating. Dog Trail and World Cup 10K were groomed by this morning.
All other trails are icy in the morning and evening; the best time for skating is late morning or late afternoon.
The Mount McIntyre Ascent and Descent are recommended for experienced skiers.
There will be no more grooming on the Ascent/Descent, unless there is a fresh snowfall. The Descent trail is shared with the Klondike Snowmobile Association, so always watch for snow machines.
Spring waxing is variable throughout the day. Use Rode multi-grade klister. Grip tape is an alternative to klister. It will last for several outings and is not messy to apply.
Dogs are welcome on designated trails. Parking is not recommended in the afternoon at the Dog Trail lot off Hamilton Boulevard due to soft and muddy conditions. Visitors should park at the Mount McIntyre parking lot. To access Dog
Trail from Mount McIntyre, go over the bridge and down Ketza Connector. Dogs are not allowed in the stadium.
Day passes and spring passes are available at the ski base at Mt Mac.
