Trail Report

Copper to the Haul Road, Lower Valley, Haul Road, Descent and Jack Fraser Loop were groomed Tuesday and are excellent for classic or skating. Selwyn's Loop, World Cup 10K, Pierre Harvey, Sarah Steele Loops and Powerline are excellent for classic and skating.

Dog Trail is hard packed but still good for classic and skating. It will be groomed Thursday evening.

The Mt. McIntyre Ascent is in good condition, but recommended for experienced skiers.

The Descent trail is shared with the Klondike Snowmobile Association, so always watch for snow machines.

Spring waxing is variable throughout the day. Use a violet or multigrade violet in the mornings and violet to special reds in the afternoon. Klister is not required – yet.

With the long evenings the trail lights have been turned off for the season.

The Mt. McIntyre Ascent and Descent are in good condition, but recommended for experienced skiers. Watch for occasional two-way traffic. Take extra food and clothing for the Descent.

Dogs are welcome on designated trails. Parking is provided at the Dog Trail lot off Hamilton Boulevard and at the Mount McIntyre parking lot. To access Dog Trail from Mt. McIntyre, go over the bridge and down Ketza Connector.

Dogs are not allowed in the stadium. On March 30 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., dogs will not be allowed on Ketza or Chalet trails due to the Annual Whitehorse School Challenge.

Day passes and spring passes are available at The Ski Base, at Mt. Mac.

Events and Program Information

The Buckwheat Loppet is March 26 with start times between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. The Whitehorse School Challenge is on March 30. The Yukon Championships are on April 2.

Hours of Operation

Wax Room: Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Ski Base: Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Wax Room will close at 9 p.m. beginning on March 28.
