The ski trails at Mount McIntyre are taking shape.

Last weekend's heavy snowfall only improved matters.

As of Thursday, most trails have been packed and many are in good to excellent condition for classic or skating.

These trails in include the following: Copper to Best Chance, Dog, Upper Valley,

Selwyn's Loop, World Cup 10-kilometre, Powerline, Coyote, Raven and 7.5-km.

Also packed are Lower Valley, Pierre Harvey, Olympic, Lynx and Cox Leg.

Skiing beyond the Valley Link on Lower Valley is not recommended due to overflow through the swamp.

Mount McIntyre Ascent and Descent were packed Thursday morning, and the Sarah Steele Loops were packed on Monday.

The trail lights are now on from dusk to 9:30 p.m. The lights on Copper are out, but

repairs will be made as soon as possible.

Weekend events are as follows: Don Sumanik Freestyle race, Tim Horton's Ski'll Fest and Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club time trials all held Saturday. The Coast Mountain Wax and Wine will take place at 7:00 tonight.
