Thanks to some better shooting and fast skiing, Nadia Moser posted her best result at an International Biathlon Union Cup race.

The 19-year-old Yukoner skated and shot her way to 35th in the women’s 15-kilometre individual race in Austria last weekend.

She shot clean on her first and fourth time at the targets and only missed one shot on both the second and third attempts.

Moser, who was five minutes and 10.8 seconds back from the leader, was the top Canadian woman on that day of racing.

In the following race, the women’s 7.5K sprint, she missed a shot on both her rounds of shooting and finished in 49th place, two minutes and 45.5 seconds behind the Russian leader.

Moser, who lives and trains in Canmore, Alta. was named to Biathlon Canada’s 2022 squad.

She was selected as a potential member of the 2022 Olympic biathlon team.
