More than 100 take part in Yu Kan Tri 2005

The athletes began the day in the water, swimming laps at the Whitehorse Lions Aquatic Centre, and ended the event on foot, running down Hamilton Boulevard.
More than 80 teams took part in the triathlon, which meant more than 100 people. Participants could chose from two course, sprint or Olympic, and they could compete as either a team or individual. The sprint course consisted of a 500-metre swim, 20-kilometre bike ride and a five-km run. The Olympic course featured a 1,500-m swim, 40-km bike ride and 10-km run.
In the sprint event, it was David Greer crossing the line first, with a time of one hour, nine minutes and 51 seconds. The top female athlete was Keltie Hollingdale, who completed the course in a time of 1:17:24. The top team was Good to Go Army Surplus, with a time of 1:13:55.
Stephen Waterreus was the fastest overall in the Olympic distance, posting a time of 2:10:32. The top female was Annie-Claude Gaudet, with a time of 2:20:06, while the top team was the Bergeron Boys, with a time of 2:13:58.
