Midget Mustangs play to 4-4 draw in recreational hockey league

Balanced scoring was crucial for both the Midget Mustangs and Terra Firma Muckers in their 4-4 tie Friday in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League's A division.

Balanced scoring was crucial for both the Midget Mustangs and Terra Firma Muckers in their 4-4 tie Friday in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League's A division.

The two teams each had four goal scorers in what turned out to be a very close rec league battle.


Midget Mustangs 4, Terra Firma Muckers 4

Mustangs players Zach Moses, Morris Morrison and Drew O'Connor all finished with a goal and an assist, while the team's other goal scorer was courtesy of Jaxon Glass.

Goal scorers on Terra Firma included Andy Connors, Brian Douglas, Nathan Dumont and Chris Evans.


Envirolube Oilers 5, Yukon Inn Boiler Room 4

In B division action, Tony Radford scored a clutch goal for Envirolube Oilers with just 15 seconds remaining in the game on Saturday to give his team the 5-4 win.

Other goal scorers on the Oilers included Nathan Bingham, who finished with two, while Huy Chau and Leroy Wolfe each scored once.

Pierre Allard, Joe Beckett, Will Becket and Wayne Risby all scored for Yukon Inn.


Y.E.S. Jets 6, Yukon Inn Boiler Room 4

After trailing by one goal, the Jets stormed back in the final period on Tuesday, scoring four goals to secure the victory.

Goal scorers on the Jets included Ryan Yakeleya, Darcey Carlick, Kris King, Jeff Quinsey and Jon Osborne.

Scorers on Yukon Inn featured Wayne Risby, Joe Beckett, Lars Jessup and Will Beckett.


Narrow Guage 7, Bantam Mustangs 4

Dan McDonald led all scorers for Narrow Guage, netting two goals and adding two assists.

Durand Cornett also finished with a pair of goals for Narrow Guage, while the squad's remaining scorers included James Maltby and Phillip Harry.

Assistant captain Gibson Pearson led the offensive charge for the Bantam Mustangs, scoring twice, while the team's other goal scorers included Bradley Koprowsky and Tyson Glass.

Mike Arnold also had a great game for the Bantams, contributing two assists.
