Runners in this week's Thursday Night Trail Run will be tested on their endurance capabilities.

With the course being at least 11-km, this will be the longest distance of the season for the weekly trail running group.

"It's longer, but people have been able to tackle everything," said Nancy Thomson, organizer of the Thursday trail runs. "It's a month in(to the season), so that's good."

"They may not be ready for the heat, but we're ready for the run. I'm sure everybody's up for that because some people want to run it fast and some people don't."

The run is being held at the Magnusson Ski Trails parking lot before working its way up Grey Mountain Road for about two-km.

The run begins at 6:30 p.m. and offers a looped course. Thomson said there is a couple big hills, but it's flatter than last week's course, held on the Hidden Lake Trails.

She said the different trails used in Thursday's run include My Trail, Your Trail, Girlfriend and Blues Brothers.

This will be the fourth run of the season for the group.

Last week's run included 19 participants. It was approximately seven-km and featured a course that wasn't hard to get lost on.

Despite taking a wrong turn, Tom Ullyett managed to lockdown first place, finishing with a time of 37:55.

Ullyett just edged out Sandro Holzinger, who came in five seconds later.

Third place was locked up by Amy Risk, who's finishing time was 42:05.

Darren Holcombe was the next runner to finish, coming in with a time of 42:39, while Jonathan Kerr rounded out the top five with his time of 42:43.

Nichole Hulstein was the official timer for last week's trail run.
