Thirteen-year-old Taylor Campbell was the lone Whitehorse Glacier Bear to compete in the BC AA Long Course Championships in Vancouver last weekend, but she made the most of the trip, bringing home a fistful of medals.

Campbell swam to gold in the 400-m free, silver in the 200 and 800-m free and bronze in the 100-m back in her age group.

She made the finals in every event she entered, and finished fourth in both the 100 and 50-m free. She had six personal best times, and narrowly missed a AAA time.

Next on the agenda for the Glacier Bears are the BC AAA Long Course Championships, to be held in Victoria July 2-5.

Several swimmers will then travel to Montreal for the World Championship Trials/Senior Nationals to be held July 8-11, followed the next week by the Canadian Age Group Championships.

The 2008-09 season will end the last week of August with the Canada Summer Games in Prince Edward Island.
