The “Chase for the Cup” continued Wednesday night at Porter Creek Billiards.

And when the dust settled after the second week of round robin play, there was a logjam at the top of the pool playoff standings.

Tied for top spot after last week’s play, Bill Berezowski stumbled in week two, posting a 1-2 record.

However, he managed to retain a share of the lead along with three rivals.

Moving up into the top spot tie were Carl Carpentier, Mike Fraser and Chris Lomas.

Lomas was top player for the evening as he was the lone competitor to sweep his three matches.

Hard on the heels of the leaders – just two points back – is another group of four: Rob Sinclair, Bob Edzerza, Alex Grabowski and Bob Collins.

With eight players so closely bunched atop the standings, anticipation is high for next week’s third-round action.

Known as moving day, round three is key if one hopes to hold on to one of the top four positions necessary to qualify for the finals two weeks hence.

Play resumes Wednesday at 7 p.m.
