Blowouts abound in eight-ball league

It was a night of blowouts in the Whitehorse eight-ball league last Thursday.

Each of the eight rounds is worth one point with an additional point available to the winning team.

The Alpha Cues, who up to this point had been languishing mid-pack, exploded for a 9-0 win over We’ve Got Balls, while Kids In The Hall also elevated themselves into contender status by trouncing the Cunning Stunts 8-1.

Alpha Cues’ performance propelled them to the top of the pool league standings.

League brass gave special shoutouts to Jason Biench and Himanshu Thapar, who both scored perfect 80-point nights, while Kirn Dhillon knows which end of the cue to use most of the time.

Alpine Aviation soars to 11-1 soccer win

Maggie Fekete also scored in the win, while Mason Peters had the lone goal for Selectricity.

In their previous game, Alpine Aviation tied The Deli 6-6 in the 12- and 13-year-old division.
