Kwanlin Kanucks win big in rec league

Two strong periods of play, including a six-goal second frame helped carry the Kwanlin Kanucks to an impressive 9-2 victory over the Summit Savages on Sunday in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League's B division.

Two strong periods of play, including a six-goal second frame helped carry the Kwanlin Kanucks to an impressive 9-2 victory over the Summit Savages on Sunday in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League's B division.


Kwanlin Kanucks 9, Summit Savages 2

Harley Bowe finished with four points for the Kanucks, scoring a hat trick and adding one assist.

Other multiple goal scorers for Kwanlin included Gus Morberg and James Tomlam, who each netted two.

James Dawson and Gordon Harvey scored once for the team.

Drandon Duncan and Aren Coates netted the two goals for the Summit Savages.


Castle Rock Enterprises 10, Summit Savages 2

Dale Kulych played like a pro on Saturday, scoring five goals and adding three assists for Castle Rock, while Jeff O'Farrell also had an outstanding game, scoring a hat trick and adding two assists.

Derrick Hynes and Mike O'Connor also scored for Castle Rock.

Rob Hill contributed three assists, while Rick Olson, Colin Dawe and Richard Graham each added two assists in the win.

Brandon Duncan and Chris Kostelnik scored for the Savages,while Aren Coates and Brad Magnuson contributed one assist.
