The fun never ends when skiing and culture combine.
Kwanlin Koyotes Ski Club and Cross Country Yukon have invited community youth to a fun day of skiing at the Kwanlin Koyotes Ski Club in Kwanlin Dun on Thursday.
Around 40 youth will join the fun filled day of ski activities in the morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by moose stew and bannock provided by Kwanlin Dun Health Center.
Gary Bailie, head coach of the Kwanlin Koyotes, will chat about the role skiing can have in following "back to the land” principals at noon, and then the kids will head out on the trails again to try their hand at relay races.
Olympian Madeleine Williams will be in attendance to share her experiences as well.
Cross Country Yukon, with partners Kwanlin Koyote Ski Club, Kwanlin Dun First Nation, Yukon Aboriginal Sport Circle, Cross Country Canada and Tim Hortons are excited to have youth from rural Yukon come try skiing at the Kwanlin Koyotes Club.
To get to the Kwanlin Koyotes Ski Club, turn right off Hamilton Blvd. by the Fast Trac gas station. Continue down the road about 400 feet and watch for signs on the right directing you to the club house.
