After a long and hard-fought season, the Kluane Drillers can officially call themselves the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League B Division champions.

Rob Pitzel and Doug Roberts provided the majority of the offence for the Drillers, each notching two goals and three assists, as their team posted a convincing 7-1 win over Sports North Tuesday night.

The victory by Kluane eliminated Sports North from the playoffs, which followed a double-knockout format. The Drillers also beat Sports North 5-3 last Thursday.

Since the Drillers were the only team left with less than two losses, they were crowned champions.

Tyler Murray added a goal and three assists for the Drillers while Edwin Vanderkley and Andrew Zinck also hit the twine while Mark Daniels and Mike Gau each picked up an assist.

Linus Fraser scored the lone goal for Sports North, unassisted.

In the A Division playoff game Tuesday, it was:

Boston Pizza 8

Southern Tutchone Storm 6

Barry Blisner was on fire for Boston Pizza, potting four goals and adding an assist, as they overpowered Southern Tutchone.

Rob Johnson contributed a pair of goals and a pair of assists for BP while Derek Johnstone had a goal and three assists. Nelson Turnbull claimed a goal and two helpers. Jay Massie and Jamie Edzerza each recorded two assists while Ron Servatius and Trevor Twardochleb were each credited with one assist.

Matt Horsey replied for the Storm with three goals and three assists while Scott Horsey tacked on three goals and two helpers. Shawk Kolak collected a pair of assists while Cliff Charbonneau had one assist.
