After finishing the regular season in third place, Kilrich knocked off the top two seeds in the playoffs en route to claiming the Tuesday Night Squash League title.

The High Country Inn was Kilrich's first victim in the semifinals last week, losing 18-12, and in this week's final, number-one ranked Assante came out on the wrong end of a 16-11 score, as Kilrich took three of four in the head-to-head contest.

Dan Thomson, Kevin Daffe and Lori Muir were victorious for Kilrich.

Thomson swept Assante's Mark Tubman in three games while Daffe, who was filling in for Vince Boutelier, whipped Trevor Mead-Robins in three straight. Muir needed five games to get past Michael Hanson.

Pierre LaCasse was the lone victor for Assante. LaCasse got rid of Kevin McDonnell, who was subbing for Chris Toleman, in four games.

Meanwhile, High Country and Pizza Hut faced off for third place in the other matchup Tuesday, and it was the pizza crew which emerged with the win, 16-12.

Richard Meredith and Kyle Marchuk picked up the big points for Pizza Hut. Meredith ousted the Inn's Jim Gilpin in three straight games while Marchuk won his match against Blaine Tessier by default.

Matt Brown and Patrick Gardiner replied for the Inn. Brown defeated Eric Magnuson in four games while Patrick Gardiner downed George Stetkiewicz in four.

The Thursday Night Squash League final goes tonight, featuring Kumon Learning versus The Electrical Shop.

Sterling Insurance and Whitehorse Travel will battle for third place.
