Kanucks win by eight in rec. hockey league

The Kwanlin Kanucks played a dominating game against the Bantam Mustangs Tuesday in the Whitehorse Recreational League's B division

The squad scored seven goals in the first period and followed that up with a six-goal second frame, beating the Mustangs 12-4.

Harley Bowe netted an incredible five goals for the Kanucks, while Shawn Kolak, Calvin Morberg and Gus Morberg also played very well, each scoring twice.

The remaining goal scorer on the team was Kevin Smith.

Gibson Pearson played outstanding for the Mustangs, scoring a hat trick, while Tyson Glass netted the team's remaining goal.

Brayden Kulych and Mike Arnold each contributed two assists in the loss.


Envirolube 8, Castle Rock 2

Envirolube got off to a lightening quick start in its B divisional game against Castle Rock on Tuesday, netting its first goal in the first five minutes of the game.

The team added five more goals and by the conclusion of the first period had a commanding 6-1 lead.

Leroy Wolfe led all scorers on Envirolube with two goals, while Ryan Miller, Don Fedus, Toni Grotelli, Geordan Read, Pete Mostyn and Huey Chau finished with one goal.

Al Hansen contributed a pair of assists, while Floyd McCormick, Evan Wise, Nathan Bingham each added one assist in Envirolube's victory.

Derrick Hynes and Gord Campbell were the two goal scorers Castle Rock, while Mitch Malchow, Rob Hill, Darrell Pasloski and Colin Dawe each added one assist.
