The seventh annual NMI Dash For Cash took place at the Meadow Lakes Golf Course this past weekend.

Close to 40 people comepted in four different events at the dash: the six-dog, pro 10-mile pro race; four-dog, five-mile sportsman, two-to-three dog, one-mile kids' (under-16) race; and a one-dog, one-mile skijoring race.

The three dog sled races are run once on Saturday and again on Sunday, and participants are ranked based on the cumulative overall time for both days. Prize money was available in all four events, with a minimum $6,000 purse in the pro race, which was won by Dave Johnson, and a minimum $500 in the skijoring race, which was won by Jeremiah Kitchen.

Jennifer Peebles, who competed in two events, claimed top prize in the sportsman ($500 mimimum purse) while Ben Kinvig finished first in the junior race ($1,000 minimum).
