Jets power past Mustangs; YA Blues calm the Storm

Willy McKenna and Ryan Kinney led the Air North Jets, each notching a goal and an assist, as they flew past the Northern Cross Midget Mustangs 3-1 in Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League action Sunday.

Willy McKenna and Ryan Kinney led the Air North Jets, each notching a goal and an assist, as they flew past the Northern Cross Midget Mustangs 3-1 in Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League action Sunday.

Greg Charlie also found the back of the net for the Jets while Gerry Grant finished with a pair of assists. Darius Elias had one helper.

Kane Dawe scored the lone goal for the Mustangs, assisted by Alex Johnston.

Yukon Appliance Blues 14

Southern Tutchone Storm 3

Scoring came from all corners for the Yukon Appliance Blues as they destroyed the Southern Tutchone Storm.

Joe Martin collected four goals and three assists for the Blues while Thom Minard added three goals and four helpers. Daryn Leas chipped in a pair of goals and four assists while Curtis Goodman posted two goals and three assists.

Eric Kositsin and Tyler Plaunt each claimed a goal and three assists while Ryan Martin contributed a goal and an assist. Dan Girouard was credited with three helpers.

Shawn Kolak, Kevin Smith and Gordon Harvey hit the twine for the Storm, with assists awarded to Kolak, Tim McIntosh and Ricky Vance.

Narrow Gauge Contracting 10

Envirolube 4

Milo Jordan recorded a hat trick for Narrow Gauge Contracting as they dominated Envirolube.

Adrian Bergman added two goals and three assists for Narrow Gauge while Tytus Hardy also potted a pair of goals.

Alex Vautour netted a goal and three assists while Phillip Harry and Yves Paradis also lit the lamp. David Larkin and Andrew Johnson were each credited with three assists while James Maltby picked up two helpers and Hector Lang had one.

Pete Mostyn, Leroy Wolfe, Mark Nelson and Mike Evans provided the offence for Envirolube, assisted by Floyd McCormick, Sean Secord, Nathan Bingham, Shawn Taylor, Paul Hamilton and Charles McLeod.

Kluane Drillers 6

Alwarid & Associates 3

Rob Pitzel led the offensive charge for the Kluane Drillers, recording two goals and an assist as his team doubled Alwarid & Associates.

Tyler Murray and Adam O'Dell each added a goal and an assist for the Drillers while Pat Anderson (short-handed) and Mark Daniels also scored. Bud Arnold and Craig Hampton each finished with a pair of assists while Eric Magnuson grabbed one helper.

Tyson Hawkins and Mike Fraser replied for A&A, each notching a goal and an assist. Blayne Monahan tacked on a power-play goal for A&A while Shane Parker, Fraser Love and Jake Hansen each claimed an assist.

Cinderwood Canucks 6

Joe Martin picked up a pair of goals and three assists for the Yukon Appliance Blues as his team settled for a draw with the Cinderwood Canucks.

Ryan Martin added two goals and two assists for the Blues while Thom Minard chipped in a goal and four helpers. Dan Girouard also scored while Eric Kositsin and Cary Goodman each had an assist.

Jaxon Glass potted a two goals and added an assist for the Canucks while Mark King also chopped in a pair. Ian Kuster contributed a goal and an assist while Jay Glass also hit the twine and Aaron Pettitt was awarded four assists.

Derek Johnstone had a big game for Boston Pizza, collecting three goals and two assists as they downed the Northern Cross Midget Mustangs.

Ed Peart added a goal and an assist for BP while Lance Brown also lit the lamp. Dean Mastrangelo was credited with a pair of assists while James Edzera and Trevor Twardochlen each posted one helper.

Ted Stephens and Kane Dawe supplied the offence for the Northern Cross Midget Mustangs. Assists went to Stephens, Kaleb Dawe and Lowell Johnston.

Nine different players hit the scoresheet in Sports North's convincing victory over Game 7 Sports.

Linus Fraser provided three goals and an assist for Sports North while Terry Slonski added a pair of goals and four assists. Dale Kulych chipped in two goals and three helpers while Dustin Slonski finished with two goals and an assist. Derick Bilodeau also netted a pair while Derrick Hynes picked up a goal and two assists.

Rich Graham was awarded a two assists while Rick Olson and Mike O'Connor each had one helper.

Dan Johnson, Logan Freese, Jordan Johnston and Dan Crawford replied for Game 7. Assists went to Johnson, Freese, Ben Cole and Jordan Halloway.

Rob Pitzel and Mark Daniels popped in two goals apiece for the Kluane Drillers as they tied Environmental Dynamics.

Doug Roberts and Bud Arnold each grabbed a pair of assists while Craig Hampton and Eric Magnuson also had helpers.

Alain Desrochers, Dave Richard, Pat Tobler and Brian Douglas found the back of the net for Environmental Dynamics, assisted by Desrochers, Dan Beaudoin, Hugo Bergeron and Marc Champagne.

Derek Johnston was on fire for Boston Pizza, notching five goals and adding four assists as his team stuffed the Cinderwood Canucks.

Mike Young contributed three goals and five assists for BP while Lance Brown and Jay Massie each tacked on a goal and three helpers. Ed Peart and Mike Nikon also scored while Dean Mastrangelo was given an assist.

Mark King and Ian Kuster replied for the Canucks, each grabbing a goal and two assists. Brian Currie and Aaron Pettitt each added a goal and one helper while Curt Campbell had an assist.
