An evening of mixed sun and rain was in store for 70 people who turned out for the fifth summer evening event of the Yukon Orienteering Association last Wednesday.
Families and elite runners spread out to enjoy the dripping forest near the Grey Mountain Road. Susan Tinevez squeaked in ahead of her offspring, Holly and Logan, on the long novice course while Dahria Beatty easily won the intermediate race. On the advanced courses, Justine Scheck outpaced her mother over 3.6 km, while national squad member Pam James had the edge over colleague Pippa McNeil.
