High-octane offence leads Star to victory

Jamie Joe-Hudson scored four goals, and Felix Maltais added a hat trick as the Whitehorse Star edged Klondike Business Solutions 9-8 in Under-13 soccer action Monday night.

Jamie Joe-Hudson scored four goals, and Felix Maltais added a hat trick as the Whitehorse Star edged Klondike Business Solutions 9-8 in Under-13 soccer action Monday night.

Isak Parker scored a pair to round out the scoring, while Joe-Hudson picked up MVP honours for a great game on both sides of the pitch.

Not to be outdone, Keegan Hopkins scored four goals for Klondike Business Solutions to pick up MVP honours for his club.

Thea Carey scored once and Jayden Demchuk rounded out the scoring in the loss.Whitehorse Auto Spa 9, Yukon Pump 2

Carl Knickle led the way with a hat trick, Matthias Hoenisch had a pair, and Elisha Leenders, Jonathon Amos, Hanna Korn, and Garon L'Henaff had singles as the Whitehorse Auto Spa put on a clinic.

Dustin Madden won MVP honours in the win.

Gary Schultz scored a goal and countered with MVP honours for his team, and Sierra Link rounded out the scoring.

In Under-11 action last Thursday:

Pelly Construction 4, Medicine Chest 3

Jake Charlton scored twice, and Xavier Houle and Bjorn Boone scored singles as Pelly Construction edged Medicine Chest.

Andrew Roberts scored a pair in the loss, and Iliana Paton chipped in a single.

Roberts and Tyson Brulotte picked up player of the game honours.

Coates Services Yukon Ltd. 7, The Eagles 2

Alyssa Rusnak and Anna Tolgyesi led the way with a pair of goals each as Coates Services clipped The Eagles.

Joseph Coyne, Leah Ott and Chai McDiarmid added goals in the win, while Hunter Sandluck and Antonio Legault scored in the loss.

Rosie Lang was named player of the game for The Eagles.

Locksmith Services 9, The Soccer Shoppe 2

Chad Williams, Abby Rich, Andreas Lavanderos and Abed Rajab each scored twice, and Austin Baez had a single as Locksmith Services pounded The Soccer Shoppe.

Kaelen Lewis scored both goals for his team in the loss.

Lavanderos and Erica MacDonald were named players of the game.

In Under-9 action Monday night:

Northern Lights Optometry 5, Energy North Ltd. 4

Ty Beacon scored a hat trick, and Chelsi Gorrell and Curtis Cash added singles as Northern Lights Optometry edged Energy North Ltd. Noah Marnik was named player of the game.

Nathan Scully scored all four for Energy North, while teammate Connor Cuzens was named player of the game.

The Deli 4, Conservation Data Centre 2

Simon Hassard had a hat trick, and an own goal by Conservation Data Centre provided the insurance as The Deli won 4-2.

Seth Bennett and Josie Anderson responded in the loss.

Hassard and Bennett were named players of the game.

And in Under-7 action Jan. 23:

ERS 3, EDI 0

Bryn Studney-Amos had a hat trick to provide all of the offence in a 3-0 win. Miles Terry won MVP.

Bocelli's Pizza 3, Tim Hortons 2

Jonnie Timmons had a pair of goals en route to player of the game honours as Bocelli's Pizza edged Tim Hortons. Hayden Fenn also scored.

Seth Sheardown-Waugh scored both goals for Tim Hortons, while Marin Lewis was player of the game.

Whitehorse Elks 7, Mic Mac Toyota 1

Luke Cozens led the way with five goals, while Martin Eschelman and John London netted singles in an Elks' rout.

Ben Bonilla responded for Mic Mac.

Michael Gwynne-Thompson and Fenian Sword were players of the game.

ORC Tree Services 5, Sundog Retreat 3

Chase Tuton and Cameron Lindstron each scored twice, and player of the game Sophie Molgat added an insurance goal as ORC beat Sundog Retreat.

Ella Bradford, Daniel Clyde and Kier McKinnon replied for Sundog Retreat, while Robyn Mueller took home player of the game honours.
