Eight members of the Takhini Heartbeaters competed in the B.C./Yukon Provincial Skipping Championships in Nelson, B.C. this past weekend.

Taylor Forsgren, Rebecca Dunstan, Tamara Greek and Alex Schultz represented the territory in the team Dutches competition while Christinna Fleshman, Cheyenne Kaiser-Conant, Jamaica Pettigrew and Ellysse Dunstan compteted in the team Jump In events.

All of the skippers also took part in the individual portions of the championships. Judy Ratcliffe and Bev Greek travelled to Nelson as coaches while Christine Borgford went as a judge.

The Dutches team posted numerous top-three finishes, qualifying to attend the national championships in Abbotsford later this month. They placed third overall in the division for ages 12-14.

Forsgren and Shultz also qualified for nationals with their impressive results in individual competition.

Forsgren finished sixth overall in the ages 12-14 category while Schultz was fourth overall in the 10-11 division.
