Hawks soar over Mustangs in Whitehorse recreational hockey game; team wins 4-1 score

Three goals in the first period and one more in the second frame secured Monday's victory for the Boston Pizza Hawks in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League's A division.

Three goals in the first period and one more in the second frame secured Monday's victory for the Boston Pizza Hawks in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League's A division.

Boston Pizza also had a great defensive outing, limiting the Whitehorse Midget Mustangs to just one goal.

Lance Brown opened up the scoring for the Hawks and then added the final goal of the first period to give the team some insurance heading into the final frame.

Brown finished the game with two goals and one assist, while Derek Johnstone and Brian Curial each scored once.

Randy Merkel contributed two assists in the team's win.

Ryley O'Connor scored the lone Mustang goal, while Bryden Endren-Cook finished with one assist.


Terra Firma Muckers 5, Kluane Drillers 1

Alain Desrocher led the way in scoring for the Muckers, finishing with two goals, while Andy Connors, Brian Douglas and Rene Lapierre each scored once.

Stuart Murray scored with less than three minutes remaining on the clock for the Drillers. Ed VanDerkley assisted on the play.


ORC Tree Services 9, Kluane Drillers 2

Danny Johnson led the way in total points for ORC on Sunday in the Whitehorse Recreational League's B division. Johnson finished with three assists and one goal.

Phillip Mullin and Dan King each chipped in a pair of goals, while the team's remaining scorers were Logan Freeze, Jeremy Hookham and Mike Beauchamp.

Derek Baldwin finished with three assists for ORC.

Rob Pitzel and Mark Daniels each scored for the Drillers.
