Hawks begin second round with 7-4 win

The Boston Pizza/Yukon Rad Hawks got off to a great start in their opening second round contest against Yukon Appliance Blues in the Recreational Hockey League's 'A' Division on Thursday.

The Boston Pizza/Yukon Rad Hawks got off to a great start in their opening second round contest against Yukon Appliance Blues in the Recreational Hockey League's 'A' Division on Thursday.

The Hawks beat the Blues by a score of 7-4 to take a 1-0 lead in the series, which is the best of three games.

Rob Johnson and Bryan Curial scored the majority of Boston Pizza's goals, each notching two and adding one assist.

Derek Johnstone finished with the most points on the team with one goal and four assists, while Trevor Twardochleb and Dave Pearson each scored once.

Other notables on the team included Nelson Turnbull and Jay Massie, who each finished with one assist.

Goal scorers on Yukon Appliance included Spencer Tomlin, Joe Martin and Nester Baird.
