Hall of Famers to visit city for Sport Yukon fund-raiser in January
The Legendary Hockey Heroes will be coming to Whitehorse for the Oldtimer's Hockey Challenge on Jan. 20 at the Takhini Arena.
The Legendary Hockey Heroes will be coming to Whitehorse for the Oldtimer's Hockey Challenge on Jan. 20 at the Takhini Arena.
The Legendary Hockey Heroes will take on the Yukon Select Hockey Team at 7 p.m. on that Thursday.
Hall of Famer Bryan Trottier will join Cliff Ronning, Gary Leeman, Dennis Polonich, Doug Bodger, Bernie Nicholls, Warren Skorodenski, Jimmy Mann and referee Jack Valiquette to add to the competitive spirit, fun and antics of the game.
The Oldtimer's Hockey Challenge is designed to give fans and players alike an opportunity to celebrate a common joy of the game while at the same time giving much needed funds to worthy organizations.
A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold will go to Sport Yukon.
The Yukon Select Hockey Team is pleased to welcome the Legendary Hockey Heroes to Whitehorse.
Call to Recycle Tykes, local Velocity Synchronized Skating Team, fun antics and great hockey, the Oldtimer's Hockey Challenge tour is family fun entertainment appearing in more than 60 Canadian cities from coast to coast.
It is the most successful tour of its kind in North America and raises money for different charities in each city it visits.
Tickets are available at Arts Underground in the Hougen Centre, and cost $20 each or $60 for a family pack (four tickets).

Trottier was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1997 after a career that started in 1974 and spanned 18 years in the National Hockey League.
His career included six Stanley Cup titles, and four consecutive titles with the New York Islanders in the 1980s.
