It's another busy weekend in Whitehorse for sports, with two Arctic Winter Games trials.

The Polarettes and Polar Tumblers Gymnastics Club will be the setting for the AWG trails for gymnastics, hosted by the Yukon Gymnastic Association.

The club is attached to the Vanier Catholic Secondary School.

Four girls will be chosen to represent the Yukon at the Arctic Winter games to be held in Grande Prairie in March.

The competition will start at 1 p.m.

Also this weekend is the AWG trials for Arctic and Dene Games, hosted by the Yukon Aboriginal Sports Circle at Elijah Smith School.

The first half of the trials took place at the end of 2009, and some incredible talent came to tryout, including several members of the Polarettes and Polar Tumblers club.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday for the Dene Games portion, and the competition will begin at 10 a.m. and run all day. The Sports Circle is bringing in a special guest for demonstrations during the lunch break.

The Arctic Games portion of the trials will take place on Sunday.

Registration will again take place at 9:30 a.m., with the competition to follow at 10 a.m.

The events will continue all day, and the final team to go to the Games in March will be selected based on the results.
