The sixth-place Kids in the Hall made some waves in local eight-ball action as they took on league-leading Yukon Jack last Thursday.

The scrappy underdogs gave Yukon Jack all they could handle and more, coming away with an impressive 7-2 win.

The Kids were led by team captain David Griffiths, who posted a 73. Top point man for Yukon Jack was Bob Edzerza with a 69.

In other action, the stage was set for a great tilt between the Bad Goatees and the Alpha Cues.

The second-place Bad Goatees came in with a slim 1.5-point lead over the fourth-place Alpha Cues, but it appeared the only tilting the Alpha Cues were capable of on this night was the rim of their glass towards their lips as the Bad Goatees came away with a convincing 7.5-1.5 victory.

Leading the way for the Bad Goatees was Joe MacLellan with a 74-point night. Oliver Robitaille countered for the Alpha Cues with a 70-point performance.

And how did the third place Ramblin’ Rowdies fare against the eighth-place Shockers you ask? Well, they did win but only by the slimmest of margins, 5-4.

Once again, Rowdies’ Vicki Irvine led the way with 70 points.

While none of the Shockers posted 70-point nights, Arden Wuest, Brandon Hagen, Mike Fraser and Cory Waters all played solid matches, making for a highly-entertaining match.

Another tightly-contested match saw Balls Deep squeak out a 5-4 victory over the Cunning Stunts.

In the end, it was the stellar play of Balls Deep frontman Rob Sinclair who posted a 75-point night that was the difference. For the Cunning Stunts, super-sub Bob Collins led the way, posting a 67.

Last but not least was the titanic battle between Team Awesome and the cellar-dwelling We’ve Got Balls. The match ended in a 4.5-4.5 draw.

Despite terrific showings by both Himanshu Thapar (75) and Irvine Melancon (70), We’ve Got Balls’ Chad Fraser countered with a 72 to help stave off a loss.

League standings as of Nov. 27 see Yukon Jack in the lead with 50 points, followed by the Bad Goatees, 45, and Ramblin’ Rowdies with 41.5.
