Great night for Underhill in Thursday squash league

Underhill had the most successful outing in the Thursday Night Squash League, scoring an evening best 19 points.

Underhill had the most successful outing in the Thursday Night Squash League, scoring an evening best 19 points.

The team also helped maintain sole possession of fourth place, heading into the third and final round of league action.

The top four teams will qualify for the playoffs, which will begin in April.


Underhill 19, Northern Lights Optometry 10

Zoe Walker and Stephen Grundmanis played exceptionally well for Underhill, each scoring six points in total.

Patti Flather equaled her six-point match total she scored from the previous week, while Eric Irvine and Vicki Stoddart each contributed two points.


Sterling Insurance 15, Kumon Learning 14

Ronie Sue Sparvier played a great match for Sterling Insurance, scoring six points in total, while Logan Bull also did very well in his match, finishing with five points.

Shannon Tessier contributed three points for the team in the victory.

Marshall Ewing and Judy Ratcliffe each scored six points for Kumon Learning.


Electrical Shop 18, Whitehorse Travel 9

Tracy Pittman, David Bukler and Norah Mooney played incredibly for Electrical Shop, each scoring six points, while Amberley Wolfe played very well for Whitehorse Travel finishing with six points.

Cinderwood wins by one in rec hockey game

Two late goals in the last minute of play wasn't enough for Yukon Appliance to get the win in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League's ‘A' Division on Thursday.


Cinderwood Canucks 7, Yukon Appliance Blues 6

David Borud played a great game for Cinderwood, scoring twice and adding one assist, while Randy Merkel also played very well, finishing with two goals.

Graham Belak netted one goal and added three assists, while Mike Baber scored once and added two assists.

Spencer Tomlin and Wyatt Drift each scored once and added two assists for Yukon Appliance, while other goal scorers on the team included Chris Dixon, Jason Berkers, Ryan Martin and Cary Goodman.


Northern Cross Mustangs 4, Air North Jets 2

Joe Densmore scored a hat trick for the Mustangs, while Nicholas Swizoaryk scored once.

Darius Elias and Gus Morberg each scored for Air North.
