Golden moment for Jen-Tech at Yukon Atom Championship

Jen-Tech players of the Whitehorse Minor Hockey League's Atom Division displayed their hockey skills at this year's Yukon Atom Championship, winning the tournament thanks to an all-around team effort.

Jen-Tech players of the Whitehorse Minor Hockey League's Atom Division displayed their hockey skills at this year's Yukon Atom Championship, winning the tournament thanks to an all-around team effort.

The team defeated Pearson Dental in the final for the gold medal by an impressive score of 8-3.

In total, six teams competed in the tournament and were divided up into two pools.

After tying Pearson Dental for first in their pool with a 2-1-1 record, Jen-Tech qualified for the playoffs.

Jen Tech got off to a brilliant start in the medal round, defeating Cinderwood by a decisive score of 6-0. Team goalie, Henry Bearisto played exceptional, posting the shutout for Jen-Tech.

In a hard fought gold medal game against Pearson Dental, Jen-Tech managed to break out in the third to get the victory.

The team's three top scoring leaders were Riley Bedard, who notched 14 goals and added two assists. Jesse McCraig finished with nine goals and six assists, while Nick Light scored three goals and contributed three assists.
