Changes are on the way for Mt. Sima, the year-round outdoor recreation facility.

In addition to the new Dopplemayer fixed-grip quad chairlift, known as the Pelly Construction Chair, which is being installed in December, the Great Northern Ski Society (GNSS) has announced changes to their Board of Directors.

Michael Brandt, Sr. V.P. Marketing and Administration – White Pass and Yukon Route, has been appointed as a director and will fill the tourism position.

Jamie McIntyre, Branch Manager at TD Canada Trust Whitehorse, will now assume the role of Treasurer. Brandt and McIntyre will each serve one-year terms.

"Both Michael and Jamie bring depth, experience and skill sets that will continue to provide guidance to Mt. Sima to operate as a fiscally prudent and forward thinking operation,” said Craig Hougen, president of the GNSS.

Brandt has been a resident of the Yukon since 1985, holding various titles in the territory, including executive with the White Pass and Yukon Corporation, Deputy Minister of Government Services for the Government of Yukon and also led Yukon's trade and investment initiative for four and a half years.

McIntyre has been the Branch Manager of the Whitehorse TD Canada Trust since September of this year and brings 15 years of financial experience to her position.

In addition to the internal changes, Mt. Sima also has plans for major facility upgrades in the summer of 2012.

These plans include a downhill mountain biking route, alpine hiking trails, a one-kilometre Zipline and a four-acre aerial adventure course.
