On Saturday, Nov. 7, Special Olympics Yukon and Staples Business Depot Whitehorse ‘officially' kicked off their 2009 Give a Dollar, Share a Dream campaign. This year's program unofficially started Nov. 4 and concludes this coming Saturday, Nov. 15.

As part of this year's official kick off there was a banner raising ceremony. The banner recognizes the efforts on the Whitehorse Staples team in raising the most funds out of all the stores in Canada.

For the duration of the campaign, customers can contribute to the fund raiser by donating and writing a personal message on a Special Olympics, Give a Dollar, Share a Dream postcard.

In 2008 the campaign raised $6,659 for Special Olympics Yukon, and this year the goal is to far surpass that amount.

All proceeds from the campaign will help Special Olympics Yukon provide quality sport programs for Yukon Athletes with an intellectual disability.

Submitted by Staples and Special Olympics Yukon.
