GETTING PUMPED UP – Donna Jones, the flag bearer for Team Yukon at the Canada 55+ Games, leads the team ahead of a group photo at the Mount McIntyre Recreation Centre. Team Yukon will have 102 athletes compete in 18 of the 24 sports offered. The pep rally is the first team activity for the athletes ahead of the August event. “After practising on their own for months, individuals are pleased that the rally allows the entire team to gather together for the first time,” says Pamela Bangart, a chef de mission for Team Yukon. “Team members enjoy the pep rally as an opportunity to build on their energy and enthusiasm.” Jones is a runner and has been on the podium at the Huntsman World Senior Games as well as the Canada 55+ Games.
