Frank was flyin’ on Sunday as Mr. Aucoin fired home five (two shorties!) of Yukon Inn’s goals in a 6-3 win over Tim Hortons in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action at Takhini Arena. Chris Lane rounded out the Inn scoring, while Doug Terry sniped two for Tims, and Josh Savill got the other.

CapriCMW 5, Kilrich 1

Kevin Johnstone scored two as Capri continued their recent resurgence. George Skookum, Arlo O’Riordan and the ageless Dermot Flynn netted a shorthanded goal to complete the scoring for the green guys. Nate Clark spoiled the shutout for Kilrich.

Medicine Chest 9, Firth Rangers 4

MC continued to hammer away in the standings, as Mike Gau led the charge with three goals. Scott Olafson added two in the win, and solo efforts came off the sticks of Jamie Cairns, Clint Ireland, Peter Deer and Garrett Kuptana. Rangers who connected were Jay Massie with three, and Jordan Borgford with one.

EDI 7, Titanium Storage 3

Pat Shaw and Dan van der Linden swatted home a pair each in victory, and Pat Tobler, Rick Gingell and Gus Morberg got the others. Titans’ talliers were Derek Dee with two, and Scott Palfreyman.

Thursday

Kilrich 9, Yukon Inn 8

Ben Kielb netted the winner, his third goal of the game, with 3:08 left to seal the deal for Kilrich in the defenceless affair. Shawn Kinsella and Ryan Martin popped a pair each, and Daryl Berube and Nate Clark netted singles. Inn markers came from Frank Aucoin, with a hatty of his own, two each from Adam Lightfoot and Brad Hameister, and one from Greg Lane.

Wednesday

Tim Hortons 6, Air North 1

Daryl showed he Cann do it with a pair of goals for Tims, and Josh Savill added a couple as well. Matt Johnson and Chris Carli rounded out the scoring for the victors, and Ed van Randen replied for Air North.

Titanium Storage 1, Firth 0 (default)

In league standings, EDI (24-7-1) has opened up a four-point lead on Medicine Chest (22-8-1), 49-45. Tim Hortons (19-8-5) is right behind the Chest in third with 43 points.

The Chest’s Jamie Cairns continues to lead the scoring parade with 72 points (33 goals, 39 assists) in only 26 games. He has a healthy lead on Timmy Ho-Ho’s Josh Savill (one of the co-MVPs in the Guns N’ Hoses charity hockey game in support of Special Olympics Yukon Saturday afternoon at Takhini Arena), who sits second with 61 points (41 goals, 20 assists) in 32 games.

TA Firth’s super sniper Devon Slade rounds out the top three with 56 points in only 24 games.

Slade leads the Rocket Richard goal scoring standings with his 44 snipes.

Cairns’ 39 assists leads the league.

Among goalies, Timmy’s Paul Dainton maintains his lead with his minuscule 1.57 Goals Against Average. The Chest’s Gerald Tetlichi has the lead in goalie wins with 19.
