The combatants in the last battle have been determined.

After four gruelling weeks battling it out in the round robin portion of the “Chase” for the Porter Creek Billiards Cup, the top four players have been determined for next week’s finale: Rob Sinclair, Chris Lomas, Bill Berezowski and Bob Edzerza.

In the 1 vs. 4 match, Sinclair, who went undefeated in the round robin portion, will face off against the wily veteran Edzerza.

In round robin play, Sinclair defeated Edzerza 5-4.

The 2 vs. 3 match will feature Lomas and Berezowski.

Berezowski surprised even the most casual observers, sweeping his matches and securing a spot in the Final Four.

Despite finishing behind Lomas in the standings, Berezowski defeated him 4-2 in round robin play.

The “close but no cigar” award goes to Oliver Robitaille.

Robitaille made a big move last week to put him in contention, and despite winning two of his three matches Wednesday night, lost the final playoff spot to Edzerza by mere percentage points.

Following the finals next week, there will be a two-week hiatus until the Winter 9 Ball League starts Oct. 8 at Porter Creek Billiards.

Players of all skill levels are welcome. Game time is 7 p.m.
