Squash season ended with a bang last week
Squash season ended with a bang last week as players took part in the Yukon Open 2016. The three-day tournament, which saw 42 participants play 74 matches took place at Better Bodies.
A newly created division saw women’s novice participation increase. Under the results a sign read: “So Awesome to have women’s novice division!! Squash is a sport for life ladies!!” In the division of five, Arielle Meynen took first, while Brenna Macphail grabbed second.
In Mixed C, Cathy Macdonald was first and Brian Larnder was second.
Mixed B saw Drew Osborn win, while Ben Grundmanis followed in second.
Nicholas Terry took first in Mixed A, while Michael Tilbrook was second.
In Open, Pierce Masuhara of B.C., won and Squash Yukon’s head coach, Cameron Webber was second.
The division winners each won $40 prize.
There were also door prizes to be won, including a round-trip Air North flight, which was won by Jim Gilpin.
